Beijing is where everything's happening. I was born in Dong Cheng District, right next to the Forbidden city and Tiananmen Square. No one could've thought that the most solemn and rigid center of the old empire will spark into today's booming startup town. Uber's CEO TK famously said that in the future, only three "Bays" matter in technology: Bay Area, Beijing and Bangalore. I couldn't agree more.
